Well, overall we have spent a lot of time in Sweden. After we bought the boat in October and left her for a month in Sweden we came back in November to find a new harbour. And we were lucky to leave her in Kullaviks Hamn. Though we were a little bit afraid of winter colds, our seller assured us that there should be no problems with ice.

Leaving her in Kullavik on the water allowed us to live aboard in a very beautiful place in Sweden while upgrading the boat. We paid around 1000 euros for a place in the marina till April. (By the way, it was impossible to find a place for the summer. We were told, that all the places were taken and that there were queues for some years ahead.)

Kullaviks Hamn and surroundings photos:

The Swedish part of the whole our journey was probably the most beautiful and thrilling. It was a time of testing our boat in open seas with strong winds of 40+ knots, installing all the necessary equipment, training in fog and night sailing.

Orust Island is a place where our boat was born in 1976. This is one of the best destinations for sailing in western Sweden. I can definitely recommend anyone who sails from Gothenburg to go there. Amazing small harbours. Sunsets in the ocean. Anchorages on rocks.

Well, our trip from Kullavik around Orust Island was not long. Approximately one week. But I still remember all those places: Vrångö, Öckerö, Almösund, Mollösund, Grundsund, Fiskebäckskil

Here are some photos from that small trip.

We were lucky to sail there during early spring with almost no boats on the water.

But sometimes it was cold. This is Kullaviks Hamn in March.

This is an amazing anchorage on the way to Denmark
